There were eight women who were instrumental in the foundation and growth of Upsilon Theta Zeta.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc Upsilon Theta Zeta(UTZ) Chapter was chartered in Lexington, KY on April 23, 2005 at the Great Lakes Regional Conference. This Group of women saw a need for community involvement within the city and outskirts of Redford, MI. While upholding the principles of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. they set out to establish a graduate chapter with their combined collegiate skills, knowledge and experience.

We will never forget.

Each year, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated solemnly pauses to honor the lives lost, the courage of first responders who gave everything, and the resilience of survivors who continue to bear the weight of that day. We remember not only the tragedy, but the unity, strength, and humanity that emerged in its wake.
Our hearts remain with the families, friends, and communities forever changed by the events of September 11th. Their pain is enduring, and so is our commitment to remembrance.

After a summer filled with retreats and leadership workshops, it’s time to raise the bar, deepen our impact, and continue to honor the legacy of our Founders by doing the work with purpose and Zeta pride.

On this day, we give honor and celebrate the birth of our triumphant founder, Viola Tyler Goings, as we continue to expand our footprint worldwide as a leading community-conscious, action-oriented organization affecting change.

It is because of the trailblazing forethought and determined ex*****on of an idea by five Howard University co-ed’s that Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, stands as one of the world’s most respected national panhellenic sororities today!
