OLLI at the UMN provides its membership of dedicated lifelong learners with a curriculum of high-quality courses and intellectually stimulating social, cultural, and volunteer opportunities that encourage community, and civic and cultural engagement. OLLI is part of the University’s College of Continuing and Professional Studies and belongs to a national network of 125 Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes supported by the Bernard Osher Foundation.

OLLI members spent a beautiful fall day traveling through southwestern Minnesota to learn more about the US-Dakota War of 1862. Our first stop was the Traverse des Sioux Treaty Site in St. Peter followed by the Lower Sioux Agency in Morton. Thanks to the knowledgeable volunteers at the Nicollet County Historical Society and John Robertson at Lower Sioux for making the day so enriching and meaningful.

This fall we welcome back OLLI Scholar Anastasia Micich,a PhD student in the Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication at UMN. Here is what Anastasia has to say abou ther course: "Approximately 3 in 4 American adults have experienced an online scam or attack. This course offers participants the opportunity to learn real strategies to protect themselves in an increasingly technologically complex world, in the friendly and upbeat environment that OLLI provides.
