Golden Gate University is pleased to announce the appointment of Diane C. Yu as Dean of the School of Law, effective July 1, 2026.

Previously, she served as Deputy President of New York University and as General Counsel for the State Bar of California, where she won a case before the U.S. Supreme Court. She has held leadership roles within the American Bar Association, including Chair of the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar. Diane was the first woman of color to hold that position and the first Asian American to lead an ABA section or division.

Diane’s longstanding connection to Golden Gate University includes service on GGU’s Board of Trustees. We look forward to welcoming her into this new role and to the future of the GGU School of Law under her leadership.

Golden Gate University (GGU) has opened a new China Center in Wuhan, in partnership with ISA International Education Group .

The center will support partnerships with universities and high schools across China, and expand access to GGU programs for students interested in an AI-focused, San Francisco-based education with global reach.

Five award-winning short films explore Haitian identity, memory, and diaspora: Tifi, La Vie, Konpa, Boat People, and Prestige. Following the screening, producer 𝘼𝙡'𝙡𝙠𝙚𝙣𝙨 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧 will discuss the lived and cultural experiences behind the films in a lecture and open, audience-driven dialogue moderated by 𝘿𝙧. 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙡𝙮𝙣 𝙊𝙬𝙣𝙗𝙚𝙮.
