From exploring the grandeur of Versailles to the breathtaking views of the Eiffel Tower, the final day was one to remember. The journey ended with a farewell dinner celebrating the memories, friendships, and lessons gained along the way. The Texan Corps of Cadets proudly represented Tarleton State University abroad.

From the beaches of Normandy to the heart of Paris 🇫🇷

Today the Texan Corps of Cadets explored some of France’s most iconic landmarks with a guided tour of the Louvre and an evening cruise along the Seine River. Cadets experienced the art, culture, and beauty that make Paris one of the world’s great cities.

Walking in the Footsteps of American Heroes 🇺🇸🇫🇷

Today, the Texan Corps of Cadets visited Pointe du Hoc and Omaha Beach, where they honored Major General Earl Rudder and the Rangers who scaled the cliffs on D-Day.

Before becoming a World War II hero, Rudder was a Tarleton State alumnus, teacher, and football coach, making his story a lasting part of Tarleton State history.

It’s one thing to learn about D-Day. It’s another to stand where it happened 🇺🇸🇫🇷

The Texan Corps of Cadets spent the day in Sainte-Mère-Église commemorating the 82nd anniversary of D-Day. Cadets attended a reception featuring remarks from Dr. Hurley, participated in the town’s commemorative parade, and experienced the rich history and culture.

Walking through history served as a powerful reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and leadership displayed on June 6, 1944.

Honoring the Past, Experiencing History 🇺🇸🇫🇷

Today, the Texan Corps of Cadets joined thousands of visitors at Utah Beach to commemorate D-Day and celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.

Later, the group traveled to Mont Saint-Michel, the iconic medieval abbey rising from the Normandy coast. After climbing what felt like countless stairs, cadets were rewarded with breathtaking views, unforgettable memories, and a firsthand look at one of France’s most remarkable historic landmarks.

From Texas to Normandy 🇺🇸✈️🇫🇷

The journey begins. The Texan Corps of Cadets have arrived in Normandy for a study abroad experience focused on the history, leadership, and lessons of World War II.

Their first stop: Arromanches-les-Bains, home to the remains of the Mulberry Harbor, an artificial port that helped sustain Allied forces after D-Day and played a critical role in the liberation of Europe.

History was made today at Tarleton State University with the commissioning of 2LT Christopher Kiser.
