Hudson Valley Community College students are making the most of their summer by giving back to the Capital Region. From community gardens to local classrooms, our students have been out and about making a real difference. 💕🌟

💐 Students from the Honors College joined forces with United Way of the Greater Capital Region to celebrate 518 Day. The team rolled up their sleeves at the Community Garden and TRIP on Tenth, spending the day weeding, mulching and planting flowers to create bright, welcoming green spaces for the neighborhood.

🦷 Instead of immediately kicking back for summer vacation, six dental hygiene students headed straight to Howe Elementary School. They brought energy, puppets and interactive games to multiple classrooms, teaching more than 180 young students about nutrition and dental health. The visit was such a hit that the school has already requested a return visit for the fall.

Whether keeping our local environment green or teaching the next generation healthy habits, HVCC students continue to show what community is all about. 🌱
