The Honors College has received a $125,000 DELTA On Purpose grant from Notre Dame’s Institute for Ethics and the Common Good to expand the Micah Scholars program. As one of five inaugural recipients, the Honors College will use the funding to support a community immersion and reflection retreat for Micah Scholars students in 2027.

The Honors College was honored to welcome the cybersecurity expert and former White House CIO to Baylor for the annual Laura Blanche Jackson Endowed Lectureship in World Issues.

It was especially meaningful to celebrate Laura Jackson’s enduring legacy alongside her family while enjoying a conversation on AI, ethics, and human flourishing.

Join us tonight for the annual Laura Blanche Jackson Endowed Lectureship for World Issues featuring Theresa Payton, the first woman to serve as White House Chief Information Officer and a nationally recognized cybersecurity expert.

Payton will present “AI and the Future of Us: Navigating the Promise and Perils of Artificial Intelligence” at 7:00 p.m. at McClinton Auditorium in the Paul L. Foster Campus for Business and Innovation. The event is free and open to the public.

The Honors College loved welcoming Honors Program alumnus and Louisiana Solicitor General Ben Aguiñaga back to Baylor today, along with his colleagues Zack Faircloth, Caitlin Huettemann and Elizabeth Brown, for Law and the Good Life. Moderated by Dean Emeritus Thomas Hibbs, the conversation gave students a chance to hear about their journeys in law, public service and the ways purpose and calling have shaped their careers.
