Discover the night in a whole new way.
On Saturday, June 6, Purdue entomologists are bringing a unique after-hours experience to Morrow’s Meadow — and you’re invited.
Bugs in a New Light
Saturday, June 6
8:00p - 11:00p
Morrow’s Meadow Park, Large Pavilion
This evening program begins with a guided introduction to insect diversity, followed by a hands-on outdoor experience where blacklight stations attract nocturnal insects from the surrounding landscape.
As the sun sets, the park transforms — and you’ll get a close-up look at the activity most of us never see.
The first hour will include a structured talk. The remaining time is open, allowing you to explore, observe, and interact with Purdue’s team as they help identify and explain what you’re seeing.
Bring:
- bug spray
- a flashlight or headlamp
- If you enjoy photography, you’re encouraged to bring a phone or camera and contribute observations through iNaturalist
This is a great opportunity for families, curious minds, and anyone who enjoys experiencing the outdoors in a new way.
