Purdue Agriculture has landed in Indianapolis! 🚂

The agricultural economics department is settling into its new Indianapolis home at the Sigma Theta Tau building. Our newest faculty members led a tour for colleagues from across the department, introducing them to our growing presence in the city.

It’s an exciting new chapter for Purdue Agriculture—and an opportunity to connect our expertise, research and people with new partners and communities across Indiana and beyond.

🚂 Kora Pass (Agribusiness) spent the summer with Aramark as a concessions operations intern at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Victory Field.

“This experience has given me hands-on experience in food service operations, leadership and guest experience in a fast-paced event environment. I’ve strengthened my communication, teamwork and leadership skills while learning how much coordination goes into creating a great guest experience. Most importantly, I’ve loved meeting so many great people, making new friends and learning from an amazing team along the way. My favorite part was working with the other two interns and creating a lifelong friendship with them!”

🚂 Gwen Hammond (Agribusiness; Zionsville, IN) spent the summer as an education intern for OrthoIndy in Indianapolis, IN.

“I focused on a patient education project. Through this experience, I worked with an OrthoIndy physician assistant to revise patient handouts for spinal surgeries and related conditions. At Purdue University, my academic focus is on the business of agriculture. While this role may be in a different field, I have the opportunity to build my marketing, business organization and collaboration skills and strengthen my ability to adapt to new domains. I look forward to utilizing these skills as I begin my career as a business professional.”
