This year Queen's marks the centenary of the Musgrave Chair of Spanish, one of the earliest endowed university Chairs of Spanish in Great Britain and Ireland. As part of the centenary celebrations, a new exhibition, ‘100 Years of Spanish @ Queen’s: Celebrating the Past & Shaping the Future’, exploring the history and development of Spanish at Queen’s, from the establishment of the Musgrave Chair in 1926 to the present day, is now opened at the McClay Library. The exhibition celebrates the legacy of Henry Musgrave and Professor González i Llubera, showcasing the work of successive holders of the Musgrave Chair, the research of current staff, and the changing experiences of students. Visitors can explore some of the earliest and most significant works from Spain and Latin America held in the McClay Library, offering a glimpse into the collections that have supported teaching and research at Queen’s over the past century. Curated by Dr Fiona Clark from the School of Arts, English and Languages at Queen’s, the exhibition will run at the McClay Library until December.
