In celebration of National Mental Health Awareness Month, the Institute of Behavioral Sciences Student Government (IBS-SG) extended its support for student well-being by donating essential medicines and medical equipment to the Health Services Unit (HSU). The donation was formally received on October 26, 2026, by KLD President/College Administrator, Dr. Juanito O. Cabanias, LPT, alongside representatives from the Center for Student Life, and Lead HSU Nurse Julie Ann D. Jasmin. This initiative highlights the IBS-SG’s commitment to fostering a compassionate, supportive, and health-focused campus community.

The turnover included vital diagnostic and treatment tools, such as two sets of blood pressure apparatus with stethoscopes, a nebulizer, a rechargeable pulse oximeter, and a SURRMED mechanical height and weight scale. To keep the campus clinic well-stocked for daily student needs, the IBS-SG also provided essential over-the-counter medications and topical treatments, including Paracetamol, Mefenamic Acid, Neozep Non-Drowse, Kremil-S, Loperamide, Loratadine/Cetirizine, Catapres, Buscopan Venus, Serc, Omega Liniment, Calmoseptine, eye drops, Silver Sulfadiazine cream, Foskina ointment, and Band-Aids.

This turn-over underlines the vital link between mental and physical health, ensuring KLD students have access to necessary medical resources right on campus. KLD expresses its sincere gratitude to the IBS-SG for their service, generosity, and dedication to student health!

Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas (KLD) is heading to the national stage! Fourth-year BS Civil Engineering (BSCE) student Nellvin Cervantes finished as 2nd Runner-Up with 18 points at the 41st NCESQ Region IV-A Eliminations on October 24, 2026, at Batangas State University. Cervantes will represent Region IV-A at the PICE National Quiz Finals in Cebu City on November 23, 2026.

KLD demonstrated exceptional depth in the competition. Fellow 4th-year BSCE quizzers Andrei Joven Beltran and Kenjie Aclo tied for 3rd Runner-Up with 17 points each—just one point behind Cervantes. With three quizzers finishing in the region's top five, KLD emerged as one of the strongest delegations in CALABARZON.

In the final standings, Batangas State University was proclaimed Champion with 21 points, and at the same time finished as 1st Runner-Up with 20 points. Nellvin Cervantes placed 2nd Runner-Up (18 pts), while Andrei Joven Beltran and Kenjie Aclo tied for 3rd Runner-Up (17 pts each).

Two Weeks of Focused Preparation

The team's success stems from an intensive two-week training program. Covering the civil engineering curriculum on short notice, the quizzers engaged in daily review sessions, timed problem drills, and mock exams focused on speed and accuracy under pressure.

Guided by the Institute of Engineering (IOE) faculty and administrators, the team sacrificed weekends while keeping up with coursework. Their performance proves that disciplined, targeted preparation can successfully compete against established engineering programs.

Next Stop: Cebu City

Cervantes is now preparing to face top regional qualifiers from across the Philippines in Cebu City.

The KLD community warmly congratulates Nellvin, Andrei, and Kenjie. Special gratitude goes to Engr. Jucar Fernandez, Engr. Jhon Cristian Colesio, Engr. Kristina Palencia, and IOE faculty members Engr. Jesus Ray Mansayon, Engr. Haddee Castro, and Engr. Bevril Siy for their dedicated coaching.
