Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) celebrated the second day of its 121st Founding Anniversary with the Literary and Musical (LITMUS) Competition on September 10, 2026, bringing together students from all colleges and external campuses in a spirited display of talent and school pride.

Delegates from the College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA), College of Education (COE), College of Communication and Information (CCI), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Industrial Technology (CIT), College of Global Business and Enterprise (CGBE), and the external campuses of Miag-ao, Dumangas, Leon, and Barotac Nuevo gathered at the Iloilo city campus to compete across performance and literary categories.

Miag-ao Campus emerged as the strongest contender across all categories, securing multiple first-place finishes and consistent top placements in both literary and performance events. CEA followed closely with championship wins in TV Broadcasting and Poem Writing, while CGBE claimed top honors in Vocal Duet and Diasical Competition. COE dominated the Filipino literary categories, taking first place in both Pagsulat ng Sanaysay and Pagsulat ng Dagli, and CCI captured the Street Dance title with strong showings across several writing contests.

Whether delivering news, performing drama, singing, dancing, or writing, ISAT Uโ€™s students showcased their full range of talents, affirming that the university nurtures more than just intellect.

Beyond the awards, the LITMUS Competition highlighted the excellence and camaraderie that define the ISAT U community.

The event not only celebrated the universityโ€™s 121 years of service but also reinforced that the institutionโ€™s strength lies in the diverse talents of its studentsโ€”from every college and every campus.

Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) officially kicked off its 121st Anniversary celebration today, September 9, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Basketball Court, symbolizing the formal opening of the weeklong festivities.
The exhibits feature various kiosks from ISAT U extension campuses in Dumangas, Barotac Nuevo, Miagao, and Leon, as well as booths from different colleges showcasing their respective programs, initiatives, and displays.

The opening celebration also included a unity dance and a performance from the universityโ€™s marching band, adding to the festivities as the university community marks its 121-year legacy.

Held under the theme โ€œISAT U at 121: A Legacy of Knowledge, Service, Innovation, and Sustainability,โ€ the exhibits will be open as part of the universityโ€™s anniversary celebration until September 14.

Opisyal na binuksan ng Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) ang pagdiriwang ng ika-121 na Anibersaryo ng Pagkakatatag ngayong umaga, Setyembre 9, 2026, sa ISAT U Multipurpose Educational Center.

Tampok sa opening program ang mga cultural presentation, parade ng mga kolehiyo, at paglulunsad ng mga proyekto para sa anibersaryo, kinilala rin sa okasyon ang ilang mga g**o at kawani na nagbigay ng natatanging serbisyo sa unibersidad sa loob ng maraming taon.

Mainit na pinasimulan ng Vice President of Academic Affairs na si Dr. Corazon C. Corbal,
ang programa sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng kaniyang makahulugan na mensahe.

"Standing proud at 121 years is no small thing, it is a testament to the induring vission of our institution and the blood sweat and brilliant minds of everyone that brought purpose."ito ang kaniyang pahayag na nagbibigay diin sa kahalagahan ng 121 taon ng ISAT U bilang institusyong nangunguna sa agham, teknolohiya, at paglilingkod sa komunidad.

Nagbigay din ng pahayag na kapupulutan ng inspirasyon ang isa sa mga alumni ng unibersidad na nagpaalala sa mga mag-aaral kung ano ang tunay na kahulugan ng legasiya na kanilang dinadaladala.

"When I think about the legacy of ISAT U four words came to my mind, Knowledge, Innovation, Service,and Sustainability. When I think of those four words, I dont think first about buildings rather I think about people because institutions are build by people and legacies are carried by people."

Sa loob ng linggo inaasahan ang mga mag-aaral na ibahagi ang kanilang mga husay at galing sa papamagitan ng pakikilahok sa mga aktibidad na inihanda ng bawat departamento, pagkatapos ng maraming taon ng paghubog ng mga isip at paglilingkod sa bayan, patuloy na nagniningning ang ISAT U bilang patunay ng sipag, talino, at dedikasyon ng bawat mag-aaral.
