The College of Computing and Informatics (CCI) honored its pioneering graduating class during the Recognition and Donning Ceremony held on the afternoon of June 17 at the ISAT U Multipurpose Educational Center.

Greeted with a warm welcome from Dr. Tracy N. Tacuban, Dean of CCI, proud parents, faculty members, and guests gathered to celebrate the milestone reached by both the college and its students.

Encouraging the graduates to pursue excellence with integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to lifelong learning, Ms. Girlie A. Gange, Associate Vice President for Operations of Startek Malaysia and the ceremony's guest speaker, emphasized that technical competence alone is not enough. She urged the graduates to remain adaptable, collaborative, and ethical as they enter the professional world.

โ€œThe world you are about to enter will demand not only competence but also adaptability, collaboration, and ethical leadership,โ€ Gange said.

Meanwhile, CCI's Most Outstanding Graduate, Cassandra Valerie B. Bernal, delivered the graduates' response. With humor, she challenged the common misconception that the programs under their college are merely about "pressing buttons," reflecting on the sleepless nights, debugging sessions, failed codes, and demanding deadlines that shaped the graduates' resilience throughout their academic journey.

โ€œGrowth happens when we choose to continue despite difficulty,โ€ Bernal said.

She also expressed gratitude to those who stood behind the graduates' success, emphasizing that, as the pioneering graduating batch of CCI, they carry the responsibility of leaving a lasting legacy rooted in resilience, innovation, and perseverance.

The ceremony concluded with messages of congratulations and hope, celebrating the graduates' achievements and marking the beginning of a new chapter for the pioneering Class of 2026.

The Iloilo Science and Technology University โ€“ College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA) held its Recognition and Donning Ceremony for the Class of 2026 this morning, June 17, at the ISAT U Multipurpose Educational Center, marking a momentous occasion for the graduating students of the aforementioned college.

The program officially opened with a warm welcome from Dr. Evan G. Daza, Dean of CEA, addressed to the graduating class, faculty members, guests, and proud parents who gathered for the ceremony.

Sharing her words of inspiration, Engr. Krizelle Anne C. Corbal, an alumna of ISAT U โ€“ CEA from the Electrical Engineering Department and currently a GIS Supervisor at MORE Power Corporate Center, expressed her encouragement to the students.

โ€œYou have set a spectacular benchmark of excellence. Remember that your hardhats, hoods, and pins are not just decorative ornamentsโ€”they are symbols of a contract between you and society, as you are now donned and ready to protect, build, and innovate. Always keep in mind to stay prepared even when there is no immediate opportunity in sight, because when the door suddenly opens, you must step through it with absolute confidence.โ€

She left the graduates with a powerful reminder, saying:

โ€œKeep your tools sharp. Keep your digital tools updated. Keep your feet firmly planted on the ground. And never forget that excellence means being a champion of innovation.โ€

Among the diligent graduating students, Milagros Therese P. Tutanes form the Architecture Department was recognized and awarded as the Outstanding CEA Graduate of the Class of 2026.

In her speech, she emphasized that intelligence is nothing without spirit.

โ€œOur brilliance and high grades mean absolutely nothing if we do not choose to serve with faith, compassion, and to actively serve the communities that raised us, because what we give does not always return, but what we give is what we are. We need a generation of engineers and architects who will design not just for the elite, but also for the marginalized.โ€

โ€œTrue progress should not be a privilege for a few but should be felt by everyone,โ€ she added.

As future professionals, they are called to uphold not just excellence, but also integrity and responsibility.

After years of dedication, their achievements now stand and shine as a testament of their hard work and resilience.
