The Little Longhorn Lab at UT Austin is seeking autistic and non-autistic parents of autistic children! ✨

Have you supported the development of your autistic child through intervention services? This virtual study wants to learn more about how both autistic and non-autistic parents experience parent-mediated interventions (PMIs) and support services. We’re interested in whether these programs could be adjusted to better fit different parents’ needs. Participants will receive $50 for responding to brief surveys and completing a one-hour interview.

You may be eligible if you are an adult (18+), fluent in English, have an autistic child diagnosed within the last 10 years, and you and your child have participated in intervention services together.

Meet Carl the Collector! ☀️ A new PBS KIDS animated show that features characters on the autism spectrum. On Sunday, Nov. 9, from 1-2:30 pm, PBS is holding a free, sensory-friendly screening of several episodes of Carl the Collector. The show's creator Zach OHora will introduce the episodes and to hold a Q&A. There will also be a walkaround Carl to greet families.

The lead is Carl, a gentle, thoughtful raccoon who has a tight group of friends who help him when he faces challenges, and who make use of his super-power of building unique and exciting collections of objects. Lotta the fox is another autistic character who uses headphones when overstimulated, and who expresses herself through art and music. Finally, Paolo, the newest Fuzzytown friend, is a happy-go-lucky nonverbal character who uses an AAC device.
