Pete Engel is the definition of a lifelong learner. After retiring from a successful law career, he decided his quest for knowledge wasn't over. He enrolled at UMBC through the Golden ID Program and got his bachelor's in history in 2022. But he wasn't about to stop there. Today, Pete walked across the stage and received his fourth degree, a master's in history. The father and son duo of Pete and Don Engel, associate vice president for strategic research initiatives, sat down to talk a little more about Pete's inspiring academic journey.
