Our Comparing Notes research gathering on October 14 was a big success! More than 20 attendees joined us for presentations by Sociology and Anthropology graduate students showcasing the exciting research happening across the new School of Social Research & Practice.

Happy Halloween! UNT Sociology is hosting its annual Halloween Costume Contest on October 28th. Swing by the Sociology office (SYMR 288) that day in costume to get some candy and enter the contest. The winner gets a basket of candy! All faculty, staff, and students are welcome to participate!

On Wednesday, Sociology grad students had a great time at Dr. Gregg's workshop on drafting teaching materials for job applications. After, the grad students chatted about teaching statements and cover letters over cheese and crackers! Thanks to everyone who came out! 😁🎉

Thank you to those who were able to make it to East Side last Friday for the new School of Social Research & Practice's Start-of-Year Mixer! Grad students, staff, and faculty had a great time getting to know one another over fun refreshments. We are looking forward to an amazing academic year and to building a thriving school community!
