Phoenix is in the sights once AGAIN for severe hail! Storms have already been seen across Arizona this morning, with more intense and widespread storms expected in the afternoon, bringing up to ping-pong-sized hail across much of the state!

Phoenix is in the sights once again for severe weather today! Storms have begun across Arizona, with more intense and widespread in the afternoon, with threats of wind gusts up to 70 mph and hail up to ping-pong ball size. The storms are likely to fall below severe limits quickly once the sun has set.

A new low-pressure system is forecast to dig deep into the country, interacting with moisture in the central and southern plains on Monday, with an all-hazards threat for Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas, including the OKC metro.

Eyes are still on the polar vortex as it continues to slow and is forecast to weaken significantly into November. While the effects won’t be felt until likely Mid-November, cold, polar air will have an easier time diving deep into the country. This COULD bring much colder temperatures for mid to late November, but only time will tell.

Arizona is once again in the threat for severe hail! A week after a historic 5-Star Hail Map, the Copper State is expected to see another round of severe storms, with hail up to ping-pong-ball size.

A cold front is moving across the nation today, bringing non-severe storms and plenty of showers from Michigan to Texas. This front will continue east, but is not expected to bring widespread severe weather today. Tomorrow, severe storms will make a return to the Mojave, bringing severe wind and hail into Phoenix and Tucson once again after a busy week. Hail up to about ping-pong-ball size and winds from 55-65 mph are expected for now.

Eyes are on the Arctic now, with the Polar Vortex beginning to weaken much earlier than normal. When this Polar jet begins to weaken, it allows for the cold polar air bottled up north to dive much further south and into the US. This is not expected for at least the next two weeks, but model runs are showing signs of this weakening and could provide an early taste of winter in the middle part of November for much of the nation. HailTrace meteorologists are watching this closely.
