Congratulations to Nancy Sims, recipient of the 2026 University of Minnesota President's Award for Outstanding Service! Established in 1997, this award recognizes faculty and staff who have provided exceptional service to the University, its schools, colleges, departments, and service units.

Nancy expresses her appreciation for colleagues in P&A Senate for the nomination. She donated the monetary part of her award to the GoFundMe for Edwin Toalombo, the UMN first-year student detained by ICE in January.

Finals are over, but spring is still in the air! Take a trip to the Andersen Horticultural Library at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum to see a new exhibit: "Rare, Wild, and Wonderful." UMN students studying Surface Design created work celebrating the Library, the Arboretum, and the wildlife within, all inspired by rare books from the AHL collection.

This sample of student artwork from the show includes pieces by: Eleanor Schaefer, Ayisha Abedel-Kareem, Eric Stencel, Brand H, Devon Ba Dour, and Anna L.

The exhibit runs through June 29. Tickets are required for entry to the Arboretum; UMN students receive free daily admission with a valid U Card and UMN email address. Students must call 612-301-6775 for tickets.

⭐ Big Dipper: 2,800 minutes (7 marker dots)
⭐ Orion: 4,400 minutes (11 marker dots)
⭐ Gemini: 6,000 minutes (15 marker dots)
