Thank you to everyone who joined us at our October Columbia Startup Lab Uptown session hosted at the Columbia Mailman School of Public Health! Students at Mailman and the Medical Center are building solutions, sharing expertise, and meeting with mentors to innovate in the healthcare space. Looking forward to seeing many of these entrepreneurs at the upcoming Columbia Health Ventures Fast Pitch competition on November 20!

A big thank you to ModernFi Founder/CEO and Columbia grad Paolo Bertolotti, who joined our Columbia Startup Lab Morningside session to share his journey and advice, which included how “betting on yourself is a good way to live”. ModernFi, which raised a $30M Series B last year and just announced that it has passed 1,000 financial institutions in its deposit networks, is the leading technology platform for deposit management.

Founders at the Columbia Startup Lab regularly come together to share what they’ve been working on and exchange insights. Having a community that pushes each other forward is key, especially for solo founders! At this latest summer session, founders ran user demos, bounced ideas off one another, and left the session fueled with renewed motivation and new perspectives.
