๐Ÿ‘œ Ga***rd College alumni ๐๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž ๐‰๐จ๐ก๐ง๐ฌ๐จ๐ง and ๐๐ซ๐ฒ๐ง๐ฅ๐ข๐ž ๐†๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ญ๐ฅ๐š๐ง๐ have been featured in the 60th issue of Luxiere Magazine!

The duo discussed their fashion initiative, ๐…๐จ๐ฅ๐๐ž๐, which currently includes unique, individualized, custom-made folded bags, with efforts to further expand the concept and point-of-purchase locations.

Johnson and Grantland further highlighted Ga***rd's pivotal role in empowering the brand's creative and strategic implementation, especially during their time in London during the Ga***rd British Media Studies program, which proved monumental.

The event hosted by Jim Helberg, Hanna Bolte, and Dean Andrea Miller brought together alumni from Oklahoma to California in efforts to celebrate the collegeโ€™s impact on the media industry, share highlights about the collegeโ€™s vision for the next 25 years, and learn how alumni and philanthropic partners are contributing to the future of our students, research, and global impacts.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œIโ€™ve basically grown up around Norman my whole life. Both of my parents have worked for OU at different points, so the campus always felt familiar. I honestly didnโ€™t even think I needed a tour, but junior year of high school, I wanted to do all the ๐™›๐™ช๐™ฃ ๐™˜๐™ค๐™ก๐™ก๐™š๐™œ๐™š ๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™ช๐™›๐™›. I toured Price College of Business first and fell in loveโ€ฆ with a college campus, not Price itself. I came back another day and toured Ga***rd, and Iโ€™ve never felt more at home. I was nervous (obviously), but my Ambassador tour guide was genuinely the friendliest person Iโ€™d ever met. I still remember getting a handwritten ๐™ฉ๐™๐™–๐™ฃ๐™  ๐™ฎ๐™ค๐™ช ๐™›๐™ค๐™ง ๐™ฉ๐™ค๐™ช๐™ง๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™‚๐™–๐™ฎ๐™ก๐™ค๐™ง๐™™ card afterward and crying because I felt so seen and cared for. Now, three years later, I get to be that person for other students! As a Ga***rd Ambassador, Iโ€™m often someoneโ€™s very first impression of Ga***rd, and that makes me so, so happy. Ga***rd has given me opportunities I never couldโ€™ve imagined: studying in the United Kingdom, attending conferences in New York, driving company reps for Top Jobs OU, getting real jobs just from being a Ga***rd student, and so much more. I also put myself through college, so scholarships are everything to me. If it werenโ€™t for Ga***rdโ€™s scholarship opportunities, I genuinely wouldnโ€™t be at OU right now. Iโ€™m also involved in Ga***rdโ€™s student-run Lindsey + Asp Advertising and Public Relations Agency, where we work with real clients on real work. Iโ€™ve been on the Ga***rd 25-year anniversary account, which means Iโ€™ve been behind the scenes gathering and creating this entire ๐‡๐ฎ๐ฆ๐š๐ง๐ฌ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐†๐š๐ฒ๐ฅ๐จ๐ซ๐ series! Itโ€™s nice to finally introduce myself! ๐™ˆ๐™ฎ ๐™–๐™™๐™ซ๐™ž๐™˜๐™š? Soak it all in. I never wanted the ๐™ฉ๐™ฎ๐™ฅ๐™ž๐™˜๐™–๐™ก college experience, but these years have both shaped me professionally and given me lifelong friends I wouldnโ€™t trade for anything. Alsoโ€ฆ create and update your LinkedIn. Trust me. I feel like I could teach a seminar at this point.โ€

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œI transferred to OU my sophomore year after changing my major from meteorology to communications halfway through my freshman year of college (a huge change, I know). After switching my major, I quickly realized that what I wanted to get out of my college experience was somewhere else. I took the leap and big decision to transfer to OU, and Ga***rd College was such an easy choice for me. I arrived at OU ready to hit the ground running and naturally got involved in clubs and organizations early on. The community and friendships Iโ€™ve gotten out of Ga***rd are something I will always cherish about my college experience. In my second semester here, I was accepted into Ga***rdโ€™s student-led Advertising and PR agency, Lindsey + Asp Advertising and Public Relations Agency. Being part of Lindsey + Asp has been one of the most impactful parts of my college experience, and I will forever be grateful for the experiences I have gotten from it. I started as a creative lead and worked with Oklahoma Human Services, where I got to learn about different parts of the industry and deal with clients in an agency setting. Now, as one of the Art Directors, I get to oversee creative projects and have gotten to lead amazing teams like TopJobs, Ga***rdโ€™s annual career symposium. As a graduating senior, I can confidently say that taking a leap of faith and choosing OU and Ga***rd were among the best decisions I could have made for myself and my career. There truly is only one. BOOMER!! โ˜"
