On behalf of the PSU Korean Outreach, Research and Education (KORE) Initiative, we are excited to announce that applications are now open for the 2026–27 PSU KORE Undergraduate Fellowship!

This fellowship provides PSU undergraduate students with opportunities to explore Korean culture and language, engage with the Korean community, and connect with faculty and peers who share an interest in Korean Studies. Students from all academic disciplines are welcome to apply! No prior coursework in Korean language or culture is required.

Application Deadline: Friday, November 13, 2026

To complete the application, you need the following materials:

1. CV or résumé
2. Cover letter or statement of interest (500–800 words): Describe your academic background, interests in Korean culture and/or language, and what you hope to gain from participating in the fellowship.
3. Unofficial PSU transcript: Incoming first-year students are not required to submit a transcript.
4. One academic reference: Provide the name of a professor, your relationship to the professor, and their email address.

The Chuseok (often referred as “Korean Thanksgiving” on August 15th in Lunar Calendar) is one of the major holidays in Korea, and this holiday is widely celebrated in many Asian countries with different names. This year, the Korean Society of Oregon organized the Chuseok Festival in the Round on September 26th, and over 1,500 people enjoyed various performances and delicious food, and learned about a number of local Korean organizations and businesses.
