We are deeply saddened to report the passing of Sister Mary Ann Mueninghoff, OP, '69. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sister Mary Ann's family and the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters.
Sister Mary Ann was born Feb. 7, 1947, to Raphael and Mary (Behrmann) Mueninghoff in Cleveland, Ohio. She made profession with the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa in 1968. She received her BA in English education from Rosary College.
Sr. Mary Ann’s ministry was dedicated to teaching, religious education and higher education. She taught at St. Albert School in Minneapolis. She was religious education director at St. Matthew Parish in Montana, Epiphany Parish in Chicago and St. Luke Parish in River Forest. She then worked for the Sinsinawa Dominican congregation as director of the Apostolic Volunteers program.
Sister Mary Ann was also director of residence halls, counselor, and rector at the University of Notre Dame and she served as the promoter of mission integration at Dominican University. Relationships were important to Sr. Mary Ann, and she took it upon herself to make everyone feel that they belonged. She moved to St. Dominic Villa in 2025 and relished each visit and call with Sisters, family, and friends.
