Founded in 1964 by educational visionary and activist Audrey Cohen, more than 12,000 alumni have earned degrees from Metropolitan College of New York. Our unique Purpose-Centered Education model helps students learn by blending theory, and real-world practice, all within the lens of social justice. MCNY is an accredited, not-for-profit college, with two campuses, one located in lower Manhattan and another in the Bronx. Undergraduate and graduate programs are offered through three schools: the Audrey Cohen School for Human Services and Education, the School for Business, and the School for Public Affairs and Administration.

Metropolitan College of New York staff came together for an Institution-Wide Assessment Summit led by Executive Vice President and Provost Dr. Emily A. Williams and Director of Institutional Research Michael Arbitag.

The summit focused on the importance of collecting and using data to better understand the needs of our students and support the work of our faculty and staff.

At MCNY, we know that the better we understand our students, the better we can serve them. This is an important part of our ongoing commitment to student success.

Strong fathers help build stronger families and communities!

MCNY's Dads Who Lead Fatherhood Program partnered with AME Zion Church in Bed-Stuy and the NAACP for a Fatherhood Engagement Meeting, connecting fathers with community resources and providing donated clothing and other essential items to families.

From patient transporter to emergency management leader. Jennifer Guzman, BA ’23, MPA ’24, found her purpose at MCNY!

When Jennifer began working at Mount Sinai Hospital in 2009, she couldn't have imagined where her career would take her. As a single mother determined to advance her career, Jennifer returned to college and earned two degrees from Metropolitan College of New York. Today, she is an emergency management professional, entrepreneur, and a leader who has helped prepare over 1,200 healthcare employees to respond to emergencies.

Her work during the COVID-19 pandemic earned her recognition from the New York City Council and the Brooklyn Borough President.

Jennifer's story is proof that where you start doesn't have to determine how far you can go.
