Intimate partner violence is not a private issue that exists behind closed doors. It affects people across communities, and prevention requires all of us to understand what violence looks like, challenge behaviors that contribute to it, and support those experiencing it.

Here are a few steps to help you show that you care:
✅ Ask them what they need rather than assume what is best for them.
✅ Be an active listener.
✅ Refer them to resources.
✅ Validate their feelings.

You don’t have to have all the answers — just being there is a powerful first step. 💜

What does dating abuse actually look like?

It isn’t always obvious. Abuse can be physical, but it can also look like controlling who someone sees, monitoring their phone, isolating them from friends, repeatedly crossing boundaries, or making them feel afraid to say no.
