The UPLB Office of Student Housing (OSH) is a newly created unit under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs (OVCSA).

It had been the former Student Housing Division of the UPLB Housing Office (UHO).

✨𝙉𝙚𝙬 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨, 𝙎𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚✨

The 𝗨𝗣𝗟𝗕 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗔𝗗𝗔) conducted its ADA Executive Committee and RHA House Council Oath-Taking Ceremony and General Assembly on October 27, 2026 at the Women’s Residence Hall Lobby. This event welcomed the newly elected officers as they embraced their responsibility and commitment to a shared vision of honor, excellence, and service for their fellow dormers. Together, this gathering also strengthened the community built by the UPLB Dormitory Associations: ATI-NTC RHA, FOREHA, IHRHA, MAREHA, MRHA, NDRHA, NFRHA, VMRHA, and WRHA.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the UPLB Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗛. 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗮-𝗦𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗮, Director of the Office of Student Housing 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗖. 𝗨𝗣𝗟𝗕-𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 1𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐘: 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔-𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕

The UPLB Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs (OVCSA), through the Office of Student Housing (OSH), together with its nine (9) student dormitories, successfully conducted a Special Dormitory Orientation for student residents who were unable to attend the orientation series held last September 01–03 and 15–16. This special session took place on October 21, 2026.

The special orientation was designed to ensure that all residents—both new and returning—have a smooth and informed transition into dormitory life. It provided participants with a comprehensive overview of the Office of Student Housing, dormitory personnel, Student Dormitory Officers, and the UPLB Alliance of Dormitory Associations (ADA), including their officers and planned activities. The session also covered important updates on student housing operations and policies, as well as essential provisions of the Residence Hall Agreement (RHA) so that no resident is left behind in knowing their rights, responsibilities, and community standards.

The session was spearheaded by OSH Director Marcelina C. Miranda, together with Dormitory Manager Honey Faith Roa-Evangelista. Their active participation ensured that all attendees received accurate information and direct access to administrators who oversee daily dormitory operations.

Anchored on the concept of fostering a “home away from home,” the orientation placed a strong emphasis on safety, security, and community-building as fundamental pillars of student housing. An open forum was conducted to give attendees the opportunity to raise concerns, seek clarifications, and provide feedback directly to dormitory administrators, promoting transparent communication and shared responsibility within the residential community.

Through this special orientation initiative, the Office of Student Housing reaffirms its commitment to inclusivity and to providing safe, secure, and student-centered housing accommodations. By giving all residents a chance to take part in the orientation, OSH aims to help every student better understand policies and services, feel supported in their campus living experience, and become empowered members of the UPLB dormitory community.

The UPLB Office of Student Housing (OSH) facilitated the donation drive program initiative of the Cooperative Union of Laguna (CUL) for the student dormitories and the UPLB Cares Pay-it-Forward Space as part of their Cooperative Month Celebration kick-off activity last 2 October 2026 at the Men’s Residence Hall Lobby.

With its 28 cooperative members, the program reflected the commitment of CUL to promote the spirit of cooperation, community service, and social responsibility while providing support to the student dormers within the university.

OSH Director Marcelina C. Miranda delivered the opening remarks followed by an inspirational message from Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Janette H. Malata-Silva as they expressed their gratefulness to the union’s consistent partnership for the initiative.

Consequently, messages on behalf of the donors were highlighted by CUL Chairperson Romeo E. Malinawan and CUL Chief Executive Officer Ligaya M. Tan as they acknowledged the proposition of a formal memorandum of agreement for the continuity of the donation drive program.

UPLB Alliance of Dormitory Association (ADA) members and student dormers gave their responses as recipients of the initiative where they collectively expressed how the donations would be of help in support of a well-rounded student dormitory community.

Finally, Learning Resource Center (LRC) Director and International Student Relations (ISR) Head Mariyel Hiyas C. Liwanag concluded the program with a message in solidarity with the donation drive initiative that put forward CUL’s community-driven Cooperative Month Celebration.

The UPLB Office of Student Housing's (OSH) ATI-NTC Residence Hall inaugurated the completion and turnover of a newly installed kitchen at the residence hall yesterday, 29 September 2026.

The new kitchen facility will provide student dormers with a safer, more convenient, and functional space for meal preparation, while promoting practical life skills, independence, and a stronger sense of community.

Attendees of the turnover ceremony were UPLB OSH Director Marcelina C. Miranda, University Housing Office (UHO) Director Benevieve D. Villanueva, ATI-NTC Residence Hall Dormitory Head Jesus V. Aquino, OSH Dormitory Managers, UHO staff; ATI-NTC Officers and dormers, and OSH staff.

May this newly installed kitchen serve as a valuable addition to the ATI-NTC Residence Hall and contribute to a better and more meaningful student housing experience for our student dormers.
We encourage all residents to utilize the facility responsibly and help keep it clean, safe, and well-maintained for the benefit of the entire ATI-NTC Residence Hall community.
