WLLC's Anna Chiafele recently served as the Maglione‑Sie Scholar in Residence at the University of Denver from May 4–8!

During her visit, Dr. Chiafele gave a public talk titled “Stories from a Warming Planet: What Fiction Has to Say About Climate Change,” exploring how literature helps us understand and respond to the climate crisis.

Huge congratulations to Lydiannah Cunningham (International Studies major), Charlie Martin (Spanish minor), and Woodson Moss (Spanish minor) on being selected as inaugural Foundation Student Fellows at Auburn!

The Foundation Fellowship brings together exceptional student leaders and distinguished faculty scholars for a semester of shared study, dialogue and civic engagement. Through coursework, discussions, and experiential learning, this initiative invites participants to examine foundational American texts and consider how democratic ideals continue to shape contemporary society.

We’re proud to celebrate Dr. Giovanna Summerfield, who will be featured at the Catania Book Festival (April 24–26, 2026)! 🎉
She will lead the creative writing workshop Le donne si raccontano and present her latest novel, Il coraggio di dire, in conversation with Italian journalist Nadia Germano Bramante.
Founded in 2020, the festival is part of the UNESCO Network of Cultural Festivals of Val di Noto and draws nearly 13,000 visitors each year, making it the most attended book festival in Sicily. 📖✨
