When Argentina and Iceland took the field at Jordan-Hare Stadium, Eduardo León (2x AU WLLC Alum!) was working behind the scenes to help make the event truly global. 🌎⚽
As a freelance Spanish interpreter for Auburn Athletics, Eduardo supported fans, staff, and international media during the Argentina vs. Iceland match. He helped people navigate the stadium, answer questions, and communicate across languages in real time.
Now a Senior Lecturer of Spanish and Coordinator for the Translation & Interpreting Certificate at Columbus State University, Eduardo credits his Auburn experience with helping build the adaptability, cultural awareness, and problem-solving skills required in fast-paced environments like this one.
From translation and business Spanish courses to linguistics, literature, and theater, his studies came together in real-world language work, an example of how valuable these skills can be!
✨ “Language skills can open doors in many different professions and industries…being bilingual can create opportunities that might not otherwise be available.”
