Congratulations to MassArt alum Connor O’Malley, BFA ’26 Communication Design, one of two artists whose work will appear on limited-edition Bluebikes celebrating Boston 250!

Inspired by childhood memories along Boston Harbor, Connor’s design reflects the harbor’s environmental transformation and its enduring connection to the city. His artwork will be featured on bikes across Greater Boston this summer as part of a partnership between Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Bluebikes, and City of Boston's Boston 250. Keep an eye out for Connor’s design rolling through the city! 🚲

The World Cup is here, and Boston’s Host City Poster spotlights MassArt creative talent! ⚽

The Official FIFA World Cup 26™ Boston Host City Poster, designed by John Rego, a MassArt alum and faculty member in Illustration, was developed in collaboration with MassArt students who helped shape its themes and imagery. The work brings Boston landmarks and local references into a bold visual celebration of the city on a global stage.

Opening on September 30, 2026, MassArt Art Museum presents two solo exhibitions by internationally recognized artists Banu Cennetoğlu and Robert Lazzarini that examine the ideals, images, and institutions that shape our understanding of contemporary life.

Both exhibitions explore the instability of systems and symbols that have often been understood as fixed: human rights, national iconography, and governing bodies. Together, the exhibitions invite viewers to reconsider how these systems and symbols shape collective value systems and daily life.

Though distinct in form and approach, the exhibitions by Cennetoğlu and Lazzarini share an interest in the fragility of systems that define today’s world. Both artists engage symbols that carry enormous political and historical weight. Their exhibitions reveal how meaning can shift, erode, or fracture under pressure. At a moment of national and international instability, these exhibitions create space for critical reflection on the ideals, images, and structures that continue to shape our world.

From the ancient Silk Road to historic Japanese kiln sites, MassArt students are wrapping up unforgettable learning experiences abroad!

In the past few weeks, students traveled to China and Japan through faculty-led courses that brought art, culture, history, and creative practice to life. From exploring the Mogao Caves and the Great Wall to meeting ceramic artists and visiting centuries-old temples and museums, students broadened their understanding of the world through immersive, cross-cultural learning.

A standing ovation for members of the MassArt community recognized at The Huntington's 43rd Annual Elliot Norton Awards - Boston's highest theater honors!

Congratulations to Temple Gill, MassArt's Interim Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, who received a special citation honoring her decades of service to the Boston arts community, and to MassArt Fashion Design alum Alex Jaeger, who won the Norton Award for Outstanding Costume Design for his breathtaking work on "The Light in the Piazza."
