We celebrated Class Day for the MBA Class of 2026 on May 27, recognizing the accomplishments of 925 graduating students and honoring the leadership, service, and community that defined their two years at HBS.

Class Day, an HBS tradition dating back nearly 30 years, offers graduating students an opportunity to reflect on their experiences here and the impact they hope to make as leaders.

The ceremony featured remarks from distinguished alumni speaker the Honorable W. Mitt Romney (MBA 1974/JD 1975), and MBA Class of 2026 students Hugo Lieber (student speaker), Riddhi Sangam and Jess Williams (Class Day co-chairs), and Sabine Nau and Camille Dawson Wilson (Student Association co-presidents).

HBS has announced the recipients of the 2026 Faculty Teaching Awards. This year’s honorees are Alberto Cavallo, Kristin Mugford, David Moss, and Meg Rithmire.

Presented annually during Class Day exercises, the Faculty Teaching Awards recognize faculty members who have had a significant impact on students through excellence in teaching and mentorship.

Students were asked to identify professors who have enhanced the learning experience and to reflect on which professor best demonstrated the following six criteria in both their Required Curriculum (RC) first year and Elective Curriculum (EC) second year:

📓 Inspiration: transfers passion for the subject matter to students
📓 Knowledge Transfer: makes difficult course material accessible to all students through clear explanations and demonstrated relevance
📓 Accessibility: available to students outside the classroom on a personal and professional basis
📓 Career Guidance: helps to identify industry contacts and evaluate potential career options
📓 Quality of Life: helps to improve the quality of life on campus

HBS alumni continue to build stronger communities through thoughtful conversations and shared experiences:

📌 The HBS Club of Houston hosted its Sixth Annual Energy CEO Summit on April 1, bringing together executives and scholars to share their perspectives on the energy industry, the forces shaping global markets, and the dynamics driving company-level decisions. Centered on the theme, “Energy in a Volatile World,” the summit took place at the Houston branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. The day-long conference featured CEO panelists Mike Wirth of Chevron, who gave the keynote address; Kimberly Dang of Kinder Morgan; Eric Schwartz (MBA 1991) of CyrusOne; and Larry Coben of NRG.

📌 To foster deeper personal connection among HBS alumnae, the HBS Women’s Association provides its members with an opportunity to join one of a series of HBSWA Roundtables, monthly virtual small-group gatherings organized around industries and topics of common interest. “Roundtables create a space for HBS alumnae to exchange insights, experiences, tools, and support,” says HBSWA President Elizabeth Crabill (MBA 1999). “It’s women helping women at all stages of their careers and lives to achieve their personal and professional goals while building meaningful, lasting connections.”
