As the semester winds down, we want to recognize our graduating seniors and hear their impressions about their time at Furman.
Here’s to Ashley Johnson, a Molecular Biology and Applied Mathematics double major with Data Analytics minor from Parker, Colorado who plans to attend medical school at the University of Colorado after graduation. Congratulations, Ashley! We’re proud of you and we’ll miss you!
In Ashley’s words:
“I chose to major in Applied Math because math is challenging, but beautiful. It pushes me a lot at times, but it is extremely rewarding.”
“Furman has taught me how to succeed, but also how to live in the face of failure.”
“My advice for future Applied Math majors is if you’re scared, or if you don’t understand something, talk to the professors. They are extremely kind and take great care in explaining problems of all types.”
“My favorite part of being an Applied Math major is the Chipotle banquets. No, but it’s actually the faculty. The math department is 10/10.”
