The Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine has a thriving international global health community. This involves currently serving Peace Corps volunteers, Returned Peace Corps Volunteers, International Government Organizations, International NGOs and any interested future volunteers or international employees. Celebrando el Dìa De Los Mu***os! For this month’s language lab we learned about the history and traditions of Dìa De Los Mu***os, and got to practice our Spanish vocab regarding our family! GSP spent a beautiful fall morning at Crown Community Garden! A huge thank you to Kim for teaching us about the different plants, fruits, and vegetables grown there. Our scholars got to harvest different herbs, prune passionfruit trees, and make bouquets out of the flowers they trimmed! ☀️💐🍃

A little about Dr. Brent-
Dr. Canita R. Brent is a global health leader whose expertise spans outbreak research, clinical trials, epidemic preparedness, and international health diplomacy. She has worked closely with governments, Ministries of Health, academic institutions, and multilateral organizations to advance infectious disease research and strengthen research capacity, with extensive experience across Africa and the U.S. Her work has a particular emphasis on locally led solutions, sustainable health systems, and advancing ethical research across complex international and cross-cultural settings.
