This year, UMaine saw ten full-time school leaders graduate with doctoral degrees. This represents the greatest number of doctoral graduates in a single program at UMaine in recent memory. Lord Hall Gallery is proud to host the MFA Thesis Exhibition: Encounter. The exhibition will feature works by Chloe DaSilva, Jenna Davenport, Samantha Grimwood and Emily Whittemore. The show will also feature UMaine alumni Adriana Cavalcanti, Rachel E. Church, Aylah Ireland and Anna Martin. The exhibition runs from May 15th through August 7th.

The IMRC Center and Intermedia Program are collaborating to present a special projection honoring graduating students, illuminating the names of our graduating class in two prominent outdoor campus locations. The first installation, at the IMRC Center, will appear during the week leading up to commencement, April 28-May 9 from 7pm-11pm each night. A second projection, located on the façade of the Alfond Arena, will take place throughout commencement weekend, May 8th-May 9th at the same times. Name displays will also be showcased on the video board outside of the Collins Center for the Arts beginning on Thursday, April 30 and on the scrolling video boards inside the Alfond Sports Arena prior to each commencement ceremony.

The Black Bear Exchange provides an opportunity for students who may be struggling financially to gain access to food and clothing. This is also a great chance to donate and help the the UMaine community. Current UMaine students and employees may visit once per week with a valid MaineCard. Come visit the Bodwell Center on Mondays 12:30pm-4:30pm, Wednesdays 12:30pm-4:30pm, Fridays 12pm-4pm, or Saturdays 9am-12pm every week.
