Art History and Museum Studies graduate and undergraduate programs at the University of St. Thomas

09/28/2026

President Rob Vischer and members of the St. Thomas Department of Art History and Visual Culture recently celebrated the creation of the Father Dennis Dease Endowed Professorship. Faculty Emeritus Tom Redshaw and former Trustee, Andrew Duff, are the donors behind the endowment. We're so grateful!
"Visual arts will always be a priority at St. Thomas through this faculty position thanks to Tom and Andrew," Jennifer Snyder, Sr. Director of Development, CAS.

"Endowed art history programming creates a stable, long-term funding source that enables faculty to pursue projects that not only advance scholarship; our research and teaching can enable community ties, foster civic engagement, and demonstrate the university’s role as a cultural anchor in the region and beyond," Dr. Heather Shirey, Chair, Dept. of Art History and Visual Culture.

With your support, we can expand access to hands-on learning by funding internship stipends and professional-led workshops. Your gift helps students build skills, make professional connections and contribute meaningfully to the field.
