Today, RSCCD leaders, including Chancellor Marvin Martinez hosted an informational hearing at Santa Ana College, chaired by Assemblymember Mike Fong to explore Workforce Development Programs that Create Pathways to Success. We thank President Annebelle Nery and SAC staff for hosting this impactful forum. It featured three panels discussing statewide workforce trends, fire technology programs, and partnerships supporting formerly incarcerated students. We are proud to bring together experts and community partners to advance these important conversations and opportunities for our students. 👏

Kamran Young’s path took him from professional baseball with the Minnesota Twins to a career devoted to public safety. He made that transition at Santa Ana College, completing his training in the Orange County Sheriff's Department, CA Regional Training Academy. Now, he’s back at the Academy, guiding new recruits with the same passion and dedication that first drew him to the field. 👮‍♂️

From Navy service aboard the USS Somerset (LPD 25), a ship created as both a memorial and an active vessel to honor victims of Sept. 11, 2001, to later supporting firefighters with the Orange County Fire Authority. Now, at 34, Beau Hutson has enrolled at Santiago Canyon College to prepare for a career in fire prevention.👨‍🚒
