Lehman College - Office of Campus Life Our mission is to actively engage students in their academic, personal, and professional development

The Office of Campus Life assists the Lehman College Student Government Association and recognized clubs in planning, budgeting, and implementing extracurricular programs and activities. The Office of Campus Life staff also manages the daily operation of the Student Life Building. In collaboration with colleagues from the Division of Student Affairs and other members of the Lehman College community, the Office of Campus Life through the Herbert H. Lehman Center for Student Leadership Development sponsors Leadership Training Modules, Leadership Training Weekends, and an annual Leadership Conference focusing on urban commuter students. The Office of Campus Life also facilitates Sexual Harassment Education seminars, New Student Orientation programs as well as thematic activities including Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, and Women's History month. The over arching goal of all programs and activities is to provide opportunities for student engagement, persistence to degree completion and individual development of social, aesthetic, and intellectual skills.

✨ What an inspiring evening at the Student Life Building! ✨

We recently hosted “Dialogue with Deepa Iyer: My Role, Our Story,” and it was an incredible experience. Deepa Iyer is a South Asian American writer, strategist, lawyer, and activist dedicated to justice and building connected communities.

During the event, students participated in engaging activities led by Deepa to discover their unique roles in creating meaningful change. Participants learned practical tools to lead with purpose, connected with peers who are committed to making a difference, and explored how to create a lasting impact.

We were also thrilled to give students a free copy of Deepa’s workbook, Social Change Now: A Guide for Reflection and Connection. This valuable guide introduces a social change ecosystem framework to help individuals and organizations align their skills with their values for sustainable movement-building.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us! This event was proudly presented in collaboration with the Office of the VP for Student Affairs, and SEEDS of Change.

🍂 Pumpkin of Colors was an incredible event! ✨ Students painted pumpkins in the Student Life Building while discussing healthy, respectful relationships. 🗣️🫶

Huge shoutout to Leah Storm, “Enough is Enough” Coordinator and therapist at the Bronx District Attorney’s Office. Leah connected with students to break down what domestic violence really looks like, explaining how abuse happens in family dynamics, too—not just romantic relationships. 🛑 She even used horror films 🎬 to highlight toxic behaviors and red flags. 🚩

Thursday’s Raíces Hispanic Heritage Month celebration in the Student Life Building estuvo a fuego! 🔥🪇

We had delicious food 🌮, heard from our guest speakers, and students got crafty making our their own maracas!
