This study examined the willingness of residents in Barangay Gabunan and Libandayan, Rogongon, Iligan City, to pay for the conservation of the Philippine tarsier (๐˜Š๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜ฐ ๐˜ด๐˜บ๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ค๐˜ฉ๐˜ต๐˜ข), using the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) as its primary economic valuation tool. A total of 230 households were surveyed to assess their attitudes, knowledge, and willingness to contribute annually. Results showed that 92.2% were willing to pay, with an average annual contribution of โ‚ฑ494.35. Residents generally showed positive attitudes and fair knowledge about tarsier conservation. Household taxes and utility bill charges were the preferred payment methods. Findings suggest strong community support and indicate that an annual contribution of about โ‚ฑ500โ€“โ‚ฑ550 per household helps support future conservation efforts.

This study seeks to gather baseline data on the population status and assess public knowledge, attitudes and practices regarding horseshoe crabs in Sulu Province. The results can help in the development and enhancement of policies and management strategies that promote horseshoe crab conservation while maintaining the integrity of the local economy of the province. It thus, contributes to SDG 14 and SDG 12, promoting marine life conservation and sustainable economic development in coastal communities.

This study directly contributes to SDG 11.5, SDG 11.b, and SDG4.a targets. By utilizing REDAS simulation, this research provides the data-driven modeling that institutions need to develop proactive disaster resilience policies. Building on this foundation, it assess the structural vulnerabilities of the university- specifically the secondary hazards such as fire and chemical spills in campus buildings. Finally, by identifying vulnerable groups on the MSU-IIT campus and assessing their awareness and behavior, the study targets the human element of disaster survival, ensuring no one is left behind when "The Big One" strikes.

This study aims to determine the presence of heavy metals and bacteria in ambient air across urban areas in Northern Mindanao, Philippines; determine the abundance and concentrations of heavy metals; and assess spatial variations and bacterial diversity, along with the associated health risks of exposure. The study will also determine community knowledge, awareness, perceptions, and practices, filling a critical gap in the understanding of air quality and public health among vulnerable populations.

The findings of the study will provide scientific data for policy development, community education, and environmental protection strategies and contribute to ๐’๐ƒ๐† ๐Ÿ‘ (Good Health & Well-being) by reducing air pollution-related health risks, ๐’๐ƒ๐† ๐Ÿ– (Decent Work & Economic Growth) by supporting sustainable occupational health standards, ๐’๐ƒ๐† ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ (Sustainable Cities & Communities) by improving urban air quality, and ๐’๐ƒ๐† ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘ (Climate Action) by addressing environmental pollution and building community resilience.

This study aims to assess heavy metals in road dust and microplastics from three major metropolitan areas in the Philippines, examining their concentrations, sources, and potential environmental and human health risks. By identifying possible anthropogenic sources such as vehicular emissions, industrial activities, and urban runoff, the study seeks to provide scientific basis essential for pollution management and environmental monitoring. The findings are expected to contribute to the development of sustainable urban environmental policies and strategies for mitigating contamination in rapidly urbanizing cities.

In Philippine urban environmental microplastic research, pioneering studies have documented elevated microplastic abundance, characteristics, and significant human health implications in atmospheric and urban road dust, particularly for chronic urban road receptors. However, the vertical deposition connecting these compartments, specifically the rate at which airborne microplastics settle from the atmosphere onto road surfaces, their potential long-range geographic origins, and the meteorological and anthropogenic factors influencing this process, remains critically lacking. This study addresses that gap by establishing baseline information on diurnal vertical deposition in urban road in the Philippines, extending local and global understanding of atmospheric microplastic deposition and transport, and potentially unveiling the transboundary nature of microplastics in the atmosphere.

This study aims to assess the occurrence of road dust microplastics (RDMPs) and suspended atmospheric microplastics (SAMPs) by investigating their presence and analyzing their quantity and distribution across selected sampling sites. It also seeks to examine the physical and chemical properties of the identified microplastics through characterization based on color, shape, and size, and by determining their polymer composition using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Furthermore, the study aims to examine the relationships between particulate matter (PM) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) to better understand their association with microplastic occurrence and distribution in urban environments.

This study examines the spatial distribution of PAHs, bacterial communities, and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in urban road dust across selected areas in the Philippines. Through chemical analysis and next-generation sequencing (NGS), the study aims to examine microbial patterns and evaluate urban road dust as a potential reservoir of environmental pollutants and antibiotic resistance.

Contributing to ๐’๐ƒ๐† ๐Ÿ‘ (Good Health and Well-being) and ๐’๐ƒ๐† ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ (Sustainable Cities and Communities), this study seeks to provide information on urban environmental quality and support future strategies for pollution monitoring and sustainable urban management.
