How many years you have been at Peabody?
I’ve been with the Peabody Clinic since it first opened 8 years ago!

What is your performance background?
Before becoming a physical therapist, I danced professionally with New Jersey Ballet. Upon moving to Baltimore, I continued dancing as a guest artist with various local schools and with the Peabody Preparatory Dance program.

Favorite performance health trick?
Strength Supports Performance! Incorporate strength training 2-3x/week helps to improve strength, increase endurance, and reduce risk of injury. A stronger body supports a longer, healthier career of performing!

How many years have you been at Peabody?
I’ve been at the Peabody clinic for four years

What is your performance background?
My professional background is in figure skating; I did ballet for 2-3 years for figure skating; I did 3 years of voice and piano lessons, and did a short stint of trombone lessons

Favorite performance health trick?
Warm-up before you play — this looks different for everybody, though. See what types of movements help you feel more in your body and in control of your instrument with greater ease. And take rest breaks. You’re running a marathon, not a sprint. ;)

What is your performance background?

My favorite performance health tip is getting enough sleep! It is so important to give your body enough time to rest and recover from the work you do for your art

How many years have you been at Peabody?
This is my 2nd year at the Peabody clinic

What is your performance background?
I am a dancer. I started dancing at 3 years old and have my BFA in dance from George Mason University. I’ve danced with several contemporary/modern companies in the DMV and still dance with Kaleid Dance Company based in Northern Virginia. I also briefly played the piano as a kid.

Favorite performance health trick?
Warm-up! Getting the body warm off instrument or before starting a dance class is so beneficial to getting your full body prepared to practice.

Not every learning moment is loud.

In this course, we intentionally alternate between different ways of learning and engaging. A moment like this—listening, writing, reflecting—allows participants to experience arts in health design for themselves while regulating their energy and attention to efficiently integrate new learning.
