Can college strengthen your faith?

University of Dallas President Jonathan Sanford, PhD, joined host Sissel Anderson on the Diocese of Fort Worth's weekly podcast, Lights, Catholics, Action, to talk about what it means to form the whole person rather than just train workers for a job.

A historic first for UDallas—and for classical education.
UDallas is the first university in the nation to award university credit through the Classical Baccalaureate, an emerging college-credit pathway from the Classic Learning Test that includes both written and oral components.
Last week, the first students earning Classical Baccalaureate credit demonstrated not only mastery of content, but also the ability to discuss the foundations of American government in conversation with a seasoned professor — a fitting reflection of the kind of serious intellectual formation UDallas values.
With its deep commitment to the Western intellectual tradition, the Great Books, philosophy, theology, history and the pursuit of truth, UDallas is proud to help lead this important moment in classical education.
Thank you to Tate (https://hubs.ly/Q04jBXdp0) and Learning Test (https://hubs.ly/Q04jC3lh0)for recognizing UDallas’ leadership.

Here is a snapshot of the University of Dallas volunteers in action at Faustina Academy, one of this year's volunteer sites for The Big Event: Serving Irving.

On May 2, before finals week, 120+ UDallas students, faculty, staff and alumni came together to serve their Irving neighbors.

Since 2021, The Big Event has been the University of Dallas' largest one-day, student-run service project, with volunteers tackling yard work, window washing, painting, weeding and home repairs across Irving.

Texas Catholic joined us for The Big Event and told the story: https://hubs.ly/Q04jwypq0

Calling all homeschoolers! The University of Dallas Homeschool Open House is this Monday, June 1.

Homeschooling families choose UDallas because they recognize what they find here: a university that educates the whole person in truth, virtue and faith. The same dedication and purpose you brought to your homeschool journey is woven into everything we do at UDallas. That is why homeschool students do not just fit in here. They thrive.

"As a homeschool graduate myself, I knew UD was exactly where I belonged. I want every homeschool student to experience what I did," said Natalie Williams, BA ’22 and admissions counselor for homeschool students at the University of Dallas.

Gratitude, faith and service. The National Catholic Register captured what made our Class of 2026 Commencement unforgettable.

His Eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan's commencement address to the University of Dallas Class of 2026 was featured in the National Catholic Register alongside some of the most inspiring Catholic commencement addresses across the country this spring.

"As a commencement speaker, I'm supposed to give advice. That's easy. Be grateful." — Cardinal Dolan

Graduate Andrew Denny's words were also featured: 'We did not get here by ourselves. Today, I leave not just with a degree, but with a purpose. Now it is our turn to go out and serve.'

With deep sadness, we share the news of the passing of Monsignor Don Fischer on Pentecost Sunday.

Msgr. Fischer served as chaplain at the University of Dallas for 13 years, from 1973 to 1986, and was deeply beloved by our community and throughout the Diocese of Dallas. Among his most lasting contributions was his dedicated work in coordinating the fundraising and construction of our own Church of the Incarnation, a sacred space that continues to be the heart of our campus.

Please join us in praying for Msgr. Fischer and for the consolation of his family and friends.

Evening of Prayer Sunday, May 31 at 5 p.m. Church of the Incarnation, University of Dallas

Funeral Mass Monday, June 1 at 11 a.m. St. Joseph Catholic Church, 600 S. Jupiter Rd., Richardson, Texas, presided by Bishop Edward Burns, joined by Bishop Kelly and brother priests.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul rest in peace.
