Is an LMU application on your to-do list? The early application deadline is this Sunday, November 1.

Early Decision I is the best option for students who know LMU is their first-choice university. If you are not quite sure, Early Action lets you keep your options open while still giving you early consideration.

Both provide an admission decision in mid-December, giving you and your family more time to plan.

Is your student already picturing themselves as an LMU Lion?

If LMU is their first-choice university, consider Early Decision I together before the November 1 deadline. We consider the enthusiasm and commitment behind that choice when reviewing their application.

Students admitted through Early Decision I receive:
• Priority housing selection
• Priority registration for their first term
• Priority consideration for programs with limited space
• An additional $5,000 LMU scholarship, on top of any other LMU scholarships or grants they receive

Early Decision I is a binding commitment to enroll if admitted. If your student wants an early answer but is still considering their options, Early Action is nonbinding and is also due November 1.

Both options provide an admission decision in mid-December, giving your family more time to plan.

For the 11th consecutive year, Loyola Marymount University has been named to the 2026 Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Honor Roll. PTK evaluates how colleges and universities support transfer students through admission, financial aid, affordability, campus life, and student success.

Transfer students represented 21% of LMU’s Fall 2025 entering undergraduate class and came from 181 colleges and universities.

As you work on your LMU application, now is also the time to apply for financial aid.

Completing the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) can help you access scholarships, grants, loans, and other forms of financial aid for college.

LMU's financial aid deadlines depend on your admission plan:

- Early Decision I: November 1, 2026
- Early Action: January 10, 2027
- Early Decision II: January 10, 2027
- Regular Decision: February 1, 2027

Meet Khris Riddick-Tynes ’13, J.D. ’22, whose Grammy-winning music career began at LMU.

Riddick-Tynes has built a successful career as music producer and executive, working with pop and R&B stars such as Ariana Grande, SZA, Kehlani, and Drake. Now, he is collaborating with Professor Marne Campbell to develop a course exploring Black music history and production at LMU, while helping students and alumni find their way into the music industry.
