Four students had the unique opportunity to attend ICSC Las Vegas, one of the nation’s premier commercial real estate conferences. 🌇

Christian Hellmund, Alex-Simone Bowman, Alexis Strickland, and Josh Habell connected with industry leaders, attended panels, and gained insight into the trends shaping today’s real estate market. They were joined by LMU Real Estate Advisory Council members and alumni Erwin Bucy ’94, Kathy Seferian ’84, Will Shaffer ’13, and Alaina Bucy ’23. 🦁

A key takeaway? Real estate is a relationship-driven business. From conversations on the convention floor to networking events, students experienced firsthand how strong relationships and market knowledge go hand in hand. 🤝

Big thanks to the LMU Real Estate Advisory Council for making this opportunity possible!

to the 44th Annual LMU Accounting Society Spring Banquet! ✨

More than 200 students, alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and industry professionals came together to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our accounting scholars. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and partner firms, $674,200 in scholarships was awarded to undergraduate and graduate accounting students. 🤩

We were also honored to hear inspiring remarks from Alumna of the Year Gina Hagen ’87 and to celebrate retiring faculty member Larry Kalbers with the surprise announcement of The Larry Kalbers Endowed Scholarship for Ethical Leadership.

The evening was a powerful reminder of what community investment makes possible. 📈

🎓 Our final Class of 2026 spotlight features Kaylee Horrell, a marketing major with a business law minor! 🦁

What will you remember most about your time at LMU?

Some of my best memories at LMU are spending time with friends at The Den! I couldn't count how many late nights and early mornings I've spent studying and hanging out there. I'll always remember the countless laughs, debriefs, study sessions, and dirty chais... shoutout to the baristas who know my order by heart! ☕

Is there a particular CBA course, professor, or experience you would like to highlight?

All of my business law professors have been instrumental in my academic career, namely Sona Gala, Diana Richardson, and Armando Paz. They have been incredibly helpful and supportive of my goals - whether that's writing a letter of recommendation or coming to watch me in a dance performance! If you have the chance to take a class from them, I highly recommend! 📚

What are your plans after graduation?

I'm still waiting to hear back from several law schools, but I plan to start my J.D. in fall 2026 or 2027. 💼 In the meantime, I'm interning at the Los Angeles Court, where I help self-represented litigants fill and file their civil cases. I also have plans to travel and spend time with friends and family this summer! ☀️✈️

🎉 Congratulations, Kaylee! We look forward to seeing all you accomplish in the future!
