Seaver College is committed to delivering science, engineering and mathematics education to students through individual attention with emphasis on self-learning, service to society, and ethical behavior. Undergraduate students experience close interactions with the faculty as a result of small class sizes. Students conduct sophisticated state-of-the-art research by working very closely with their professors and they participate in various undergraduate student research conferences and student design competitions. Graduate programs are offered in civil, electrical and mechanical engineering, in environmental science, in computer science, and in engineering management.

The HHSC Society hosted Athletic Training Night, featuring HHSC faculty members Yong Woo An, associate professor; Kyle Boisselle, lecturer; and Sarah Strand, associate professor.

Students gained hands-on experience practicing wrist and ankle taping techniques while learning more about the athletic training profession and its real-world applications.

Congratulations to our computer science faculty and students on their research presentation at the 22nd Annual International Conference on Body Sensor Networks in Porto, Portugal!

Delaram Yazdansepas, assistant professor of computer science, along with computer science majors Dayyan Chaudhri ’28 and Adam Neulander '28, presented their research titled "Soft-Label MET Estimation: Uncertainty-Aware Energy Expenditure from Wrist-Worn Accelerometers.”

Their project explores how machine learning and wrist-worn sensors can help estimate energy expenditure as people transition between physical activities, bringing together technology, data, and human movement in exciting new ways.

Seaver College is launching a new Artificial Intelligence Certificate designed for professionals looking to advance their skills in AI, machine learning, generative AI, and other emerging technologies.

What makes the program different? A commitment to ethics and responsible innovation.

"Every class will pause to consider not just what a technology can do, but how it should be used," said John David Dionisio, professor and chair of LMU's Computer Science Department.

Through hands-on projects and flexible coursework, students will gain practical AI experience while exploring questions of fairness, accountability, transparency, and real-world impact.
