We have a new COMbird in Fell Hall this year! Dr. Jessica Payne joined us from the University of Alabama in August, in a position shared between sports communication and public relations. In a couple of short months, she is already making an impact! Sports Girls Club asked her to be their advisor, she's had a couple publications, built a new course for spring, and made a reputation as a fantastic instructor. We will all try to keep up. Welcome, Dr. Payne!

WZND continues its reign as one of the best (we all know it is THE best) college radio stations in the land, and it's time to celebrate their NINE first place Silver Dome Awards from the Illinois Broadcasters Association! All the winners and nominees are avialable at the link below, and TV-10 had a fabulous showing as well! They will get their own post next week.

Our own Dr. Joe Blaney frequently rides his bike to work, but now he is taking biking to the next level to support WZND students! He's been participating in the Big BAM: Bike Across Missouri, from October 11–17 to build financial support to send seven WZND students to the Broadcast Education Association convention this April.
