Lewis & Clark Law School earned an A+ in Business Law from The National Jurist!

The National Jurist highlighted the hands-on experience our students gain through the Small Business Legal Clinic, where they help clients protect and develop their businesses. During the 2025–26 academic year, students worked on patent and trademark matters that resulted in two patents and 11 trademarks being issued or registered for clients.

Beyond the clinic, students have opportunities to work with companies including Nike, Intel, and ZoomInfo. We are also adding a one-week shadowing opportunity with a Bay Area tech company, giving students a chance to observe the work of in-house counsel and explore corporate legal practice.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate 30 years of Earthrise Law Center! 🎉

It was a special evening bringing together alumni, students, faculty, and friends to reflect on three decades of environmental advocacy and honor co-founders Dan Rohlf and Craig Johnston.

Since its founding, Earthrise has worked to protect the environment, hold polluters and government agencies accountable, and train the next generation of environmental advocates. We’re grateful to everyone who has been part of that work and helped shape Earthrise into what it is today.

Here’s to 30 years of impact and the work still ahead!

Congratulations to our graduates who were sworn in as members of the Oregon State Bar today!

We’re proud to share that 95.4% of our first-time takers passed the NextGen Bar Exam! This outstanding achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and perseverance of our graduates, as well as the commitment of our faculty to preparing students for success.

The entire Lewis & Clark Law School community is incredibly proud. Congratulations on this exciting milestone!

This past weekend, our advocates represented Lewis & Clark at three competitions across the country in California, Illinois, and New York!

Complex Civil Litigation Competition (Illinois): AK Sousa, Natalie Darves-Bornoz, Index Marcus, and Kayla Porter advanced to the Top 8 out of 17 schools and took home Best Written Motions in Limine! AK Sousa also earned a Best Advocate award, and the team ranked 4th overall for its use of technology.

Buffalo-Niagara Trial Competition (New York): Advocates Carmella Brady-Schuff, Claire Holmes, McKinzie Millard, and Nicholas Ryan, joined by witness Chad Horgan, delivered outstanding performances! Claire Holmes earned Best Opening Statement among 24 competing teams, while the team received high praise for its examinations, closing arguments, and advocacy.

Gold Cup (California): Maeve Stargardt, Anabelle Dunn, Cameron Tow, and Spencer Brown went head-to-head with nationally competitive programs, earning praise for their advocacy, professionalism, and impressive command of the rules of evidence.

Congratulations to all three teams and their coaches for an incredible weekend of advocacy!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Class Reunions this past weekend! Alumni from all the class years ending in "6"—from the Class of ’66 to the Class of ’16—came together to reconnect with classmates, reminisce, and share stories from their time at Lewis & Clark.

It was a wonderful weekend celebrating the connections that last long after law school. Alumni kicked off the festivities with a special alumni CLE lecture before enjoying student-led campus tours and a family-friendly gathering featuring an ice cream cart, photo booth, bounce house, and plenty of time to catch up.

We’re so grateful to everyone who returned to campus to celebrate with us!

Thank you to Román Hernandez, partner at Cable Huston, LLP, for visiting Lewis & Clark Law School yesterday to share his journey from first-generation law student to law firm partner!

Hosted by the Latiné Law Society in celebration of Hispanic and Latiné Heritage Month, Román reflected on how his identity has shaped his career and continues to inspire his work. As the founder of the Latiné Law Society, his story is especially meaningful to our community.
