UT San Antonio is committed to supporting innovation and economic growth across the state.

Jeff Prevost, executive director of UT San Antonio’s Open Cloud Institute, has been appointed to the Texas Quantum Initiative Advisory Committee by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, highlighting the university’s pivotal role in Texas’ rise as a leader in quantum computing.

Quantum computing is an emerging field built on a new approach to computation that could one day tackle problems far beyond the reach of today’s computers, with significant implications for cybersecurity, medicine and energy. The new advisory committee will help guide strategic investment in the field and keep the state competitive.

Birds way up for 210 Robotics, nine UT San Antonio freshmen who are now the ONLY U.S. team to move on to the finals of the Siemens Immersive Design Challenge, an international competition focused on sustainable engineering and immersive design.
