On Memorial Day, we honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. As a reminder, Auburn University will be closed Monday in observance of the holiday.

Lest We Forget: On Tuesday, the Auburn University Veterans Resource Center hosted a Memorial Day Observance on Cater Lawn to honor U.S. service members who lost their lives in war. A Gold Star family with Auburn ties was recognized and Col. Chris Richie, a decorated Marine Corps officer and Director of HR Development, delivered the keynote address.

“If we are to remain the land of the free, we must continue to tell their stories,” Richie said. “May we never forget, and may we always live worthy of their sacrifice.”

Flags were also placed on Cater Lawn in remembrance of those killed in action and will remain displayed through Memorial Day.

The Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine seeks candidates for a Barn Assistant position to perform general construction and maintenance of farm equipment and facilities that support routine care for animals. This position is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, being around farm animals, and all the tough jobs involved in farm work.

This is considered a weekend position: Wednesday through Sunday from 5 a.m. – 2 p.m. Some flexibility may be necessary.

Yum! During today's Departmental Appreciation Day, employees across campus celebrated with plenty of food, including breakfast, barbecue, pizza, and milkshakes.
