Ludwig Diehn School of Music. Outstanding musician-scholar-teachers provide a rich, challenging and creative environment in which students may pursue th

eir educational dreams and aspirations. The School consists of award-winning faculty who are nationally and internationally recognized leaders in their fields. Several faculty serve as principal musicians with the Virginia Symphony and the Virginia Opera and are established teacher-performers in Southeastern Virginia and beyond. The Diehn School of Music is housed in the F. Ludwig Diehn Center for the Performing Arts. In 2014, Old Dominion University opened a new addition to the Diehn Center for the Performing Arts. Old Dominion University has been an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music since 1978, and offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in music.

The ODU F. Ludwig Diehn School of Music was deeply honored to participate in Friday's beautiful memorial ceremony honoring Lieutenant Colonel Brandon A. Shah.

A special thank you to the ODU Band, led by Dr. NewCheever, for their moving musical tribute and to Professor Cristina Loyola for a breathtaking performance of the National Anthem. It was a privilege for our students and faculty to pay tribute to LTC Shah’s legacy and service through music.
