We are an organization for students who are interested in Psychology. We are located on the University of Central Florida's Main Campus. Download the application from our website. Print it out and fill it in. Come to our meetings and turn the application in with the dues. How much are the dues? Dues are $20 per semester or $35 for Fall and Spring semesters. We are not active in the Summer semester
. When is the deadline to apply? The deadline to turn in the application will be February 22, 2016. What are the benefits of becoming a member? As a member you are going to be able to participate in workshops exclusively for members. Resume/CV building. Meet other students with similar interests. Scholarship Opportunities. Volunteer opportunities. Hands on Experience/Fieldwork. Career Building. Graduate School Preparation. What are the requirements to join? We accept all UCF Students who are Psychology majors or are interested in the field. The only requirement is you must pay dues to be considered a member of the Psychological Society. There is no minimum GPA requirement. What if I can’t attend one of the meetings? General meetings are held every other Monday at 7:30 pm in the Student Union, Room 221. If you cannot make it to a meeting you may come to the office hours or email us and one of the officers will be happy to help you. Where is the office located? The office is located in the Psychology Building Room 323. What are the requirements to get a cord/stole? Graduation regalia is awarded to paid, active members who are seniors in their graduating semester. Please note that the Psychological Society honors our graduating seniors with graduation regalia voluntarily and we do so because we want to, not because we have to. Cords/stoles are awarded at the discretion of the officers. In addition to being a paid member in your graduating semester:
You need to have a minimum of 25 points. You need to attend at least 3 meetings. Note: The 25 points has to be a variation of meetings and volunteer events. How does the point system work? Since attending three meetings is one of the requirements to get the cord/stole and each meeting is 5 points each, we have added 10 more points. This way your participation as a member is not only based on attending the meetings but also participating in events with UCF, as well as events that we create as an organization. Point sheets are due at the end of every Fall and Spring semester. Points do not roll over into the next semester or academic year. If you are not a graduating senior, the points you obtain as an active member go toward awards and special recognition at the banquet every Fall and Spring semester. Attending meetings and events with Psych Society and participating in other events with UCF are great ways to gain experience and build your CV/resume. How are the dues used? The dues benefit our organization as a whole. We use membership dues for socials, the Fall & Spring Banquets, any food/beverages served during meetings, donations to local charities, and for events that we hold each year. Where can I receive updates on events and activities? Our Discord is the best way to stay updated. However, some channels are reserved for club members, usually to announce member-exclusive events and activities. Link: https://discord.gg/kTceZPPZ
