From advancing promising new therapies for triple-negative breast cancer to making a lasting impact through mentorship, leadership, and service, Khaled Nassar has distinguished himself as an exceptional member of the GSBS community and has been selected to receive the Senior Student of the Year Award!
A fifth-year Integrated Biomedical Sciences β Cancer Biology student, Khaled has earned national recognition for his research, including the Minority Scholar in Cancer Research Award at the AACR Annual Meeting and the Basic Science Scholars Award at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium. He has also received multiple presentation awards and authored two first-author peer-reviewed publications.
Beyond the lab, Khaled mentors undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, MD, and high school trainees in experimental design, data analysis, and laboratory techniques. This year, he was also selected for the highly competitive U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps Junior COSTEP Program at the NIH.
