We proudly celebrate and recognize Dr. Waldemar Gorski for his remarkable contributions to the UTSA Department of Chemistry. Since joining UTSA in 1996, Dr. Gorski has played a vital role in advancing the department through his dedication to research, education, mentorship, and leadership.

From 2007 to 2020, he served as Chair of the Department of Chemistry, helping guide the department through years of growth and achievement while supporting countless students, faculty, and staff along the way. His impact on the department and university community will be long-lasting.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Gorski for his many years of service and wish him all the best in his well-earned retirement.

We proudly celebrate and recognize Dr. John Frederick for his distinguished service to the University of Texas at San Antonio, Department of Chemistry, and the broader academic community.

Since joining UTSA in 2008 as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Frederick has provided exceptional leadership, also serving as Interim Chair of Mathematics and Interim Dean of the College of Sciences. His dedication and commitment have left a lasting impact on the university.

We proudly celebrate and recognize Dr. Kirk Schanze for his outstanding contributions to the Department of Chemistry at The University of Texas at San Antonio. Since joining in 2016 as the Robert A. Welch Distinguished University Chair in Chemistry, Dr. Schanze has made a lasting impact through his leadership, research excellence, and dedication to mentoring students and colleagues.
