Ryan joined LMC in 2017 to study Uniformed Protective Services and loved every minute of his time at LMC, especially the independent and grown-up environment compared to school or sixth form.

Courses at LMC are designed to provide you with the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to progress into employment, with careers embedded throughout each course to help you explore the opportunities available.

Huge congratulations to another one of our joiners, Matty Infield on successfully passing his End-Point Assessment and achieving a fantastic Merit grade in his Level 3 Advanced Carpentry and Joinery apprenticeship!

Matty first joined us in early 2023 as a Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery apprentice, where he quickly demonstrated a strong work ethic, and a passion for the craft. His dedication paid off, and in September 2024, he took the ambitious step to progress onto the advanced Level 3 programme.

Over the last few years, we have watched Matty grow from a keen learner into a skilled, confident professional capable of tackling high-level joinery projects. Matty's tutor, Derek said "Congratulations on completing your apprenticeship! Your hard work and dedication throughout this challenging journey have truly paid off. Wishing you the very best of luck in your future career."

Securing a Merit at an Advanced Level 3 is a testament to Matty’s hard work, determination, and technical talent. We are incredibly proud of his journey and his outstanding achievement. Well done, Matty! 😁

Staff highlight ✨

Back in September 2025, we re-opened the long-standing Cafe area within our Sports Centre. We listened to staff and student feedback on having healthier choices to make at breakfast and lunch time and additional spaces to sit that are quieter than the hustle and bustle of The Lounge.

With the dedication and commitment from new staff member Nicola, The Cafe has developed into a well-used safe space, healthy lunch option and friendly environment to be in. Nicola goes above and beyond to ensure that staff and students are welcomed with a smile, she keeps up to date with all the current trends and loves to decorate the space throughout the year.

We applaud you Nicola for your hard work and for never faulting on service, even if the queue is out the door sometimes! We can't wait to see what you have in store for us all next year when we re-open again September 2026. 😁☀️✨

Meet Tor 🦎🦇🦋 one of our amazing Level 1 Animal Studies students at LMC.

In this video, they talk about what they love most about the course, what college life has been like for them and how studying here has helped them grow in confidence.

It’s a brilliant insight into student life and the personal journeys that happen along the way!

On we are so proud to share this short video of Leila, one of our T Level Health students.

The placements she took part in has been a hugely valuable part of her journey into the Health industry and we cannot thank University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust enough for supporting our students in their skills development and building confidence.

Well done Leila, you are smashing it 😊
