Our vibrant new music program, combined with an internationally renowned faculty and excellent facilities makes the BGSU composition program one of the most visible and thriving in the country. Our four talented and diverse full-time composition faculty members, Christopher Dietz, Mikel Kuehn, Elainie Lillios, and Marilyn Shrude, work well together to foster a supportive, creative environment in w
hich young composers can thrive. Our history of excellence spans more than three decades. Students in the BGSU Composition program are given the opportunity to interact with guest composers and ensembles through a variety of residencies, reading sessions, and the annual New Music Festival hosted by the MidAmerican Center for Contemporary Music.
